8:00am - 8:45am Doors open, team regisration/check-in, breakfast, group organizing
8:4am - 9:15am Hack-a-thon challenge presentation
9:30am Team registration closes
11:30am - 12:30pm Lunch is served
3:30pm 30 minute warning
4:00pm - 5:00pm Presentation/Closing Note


  1. Individuals may register but must organize into teams once they receive the hack
  2. Each team must consist of 2 to 5 members
  3. At presentation time, each team will receive between 2 and 3 minutes to describe their problem, how they intended to solve it, and demonstrate what they came up with
  4. The contest winners will be selected by a panel of judges
  5. Total of three top prizes will be awarded
  6. Winners will be announced during DC DATACON on October 3rd

Grading Criteria

  1. Best Visualized Submission
    • Each judge will grade visualization(s) on the scale of 1-5 for each presentation
  2. Best Analytical Model
    • The best Machine Learning models used, with a short explanation on how it works and why it was chosen (explanation point, 1-5)
    • Comparison (if any) between the different models used(variety point, 1-5)
    • The models will be judged on the accuracy scores (score point, 1-5)
  3. Most Valuable/Marketable Product
    • A complete solution in itself. Could be anything, an end to end product/solution(feasible score, 1-5)
