  1. How can I get a speaking slot at your conference?
In general, the program (agenda) is set by our government hosts/sponsors, who also recruit the speakers for their conferences. Typically, speakers are government leaders rather than contractors' representatives. Occasionally a vendors' rep will be invited to speak based on some expertise that he/she may have. In such cases, the government host will make all final decisions. We do not "sell" speaking slots and we do not make speaking slots available in exchange for corporate sponsorships, exhibit space upgrades, etc.

  2. May I serve on a conference steering committee?
NCSI typically does not control the content planning aspects of the conferences that we plan and produce. This is frequently done by the government host. NCSI does act as the coordinator for this planning activity, depending on the clients' desires. Therefore, opportunities to serve on a conference's steering committee are limited to a select few events.

  3. What should I do if there is inclement weather on the day of an event?
If the event is onsite at a military installation or government facility, NCSI follows that location's weather policy. Most installations provide a website or phone number to call in case of inclement weather. Your NCSI representative is also a reliable source to find out the status of an event. Don't hesitate to call us 888-603-8899.

  5. How many exhibitor representatives can come to an event where my company is exhibiting?
This number of exhibitors' representatives permitted varies by event. At most in-agency IT expos, there is no limit to the number of representatives permitted. However, some Intelligence Community agencies do set a limit, so check with your NCSI representative in advance. At conferences, each company is allowed to send 4 representatives per 10 x 10 booth (8 representatives per 10 x 20 booth, etc.).

  9. What is the difference between an "in-agency IT expo" and a "conference?"
In-agency IT expos are held on site at Federal agencies, DoD facilities and military installations and the technologies featured tend to be focused on the missions at that base. Although in-agency expos may have a seminar associated with them, they typically do not. Conferences focus on a specific topic or community of people that may be geographically dispersed. Conferences feature plenary and breakout sessions which are complemented by relevant exhibits and are typically held at large-scale hotels or conference centers instead of Federal locations.
