The 2012 DoDIIS Worldwide Conference in Denver, CO proved to be the largest, most successful conference to date. With record breaking attendance of over 2,200 attendees, the hosts, the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Directorate for Information Management (DS) and Chief Information Officer (CI0), had the ideal platform to reach out to IT professionals from across government, industry, and academia. Three full days of sessions were focused on the theme “Advancing Mission Integration,” concentrating on the DIA CIO’s commitment and intent to unify defense intelligence infrastructure and information sharing initiatives.
The graphics for this event illustrated DIA’s “Commitment to Excellence in Defense of the Nation — One Mission. One Team. One Agency.” by combining the warfighter in the field with the intelligence personnel receiving and analyzing the data. The graphics also show the need for collaborative efforts and an integrated infrastructure for information sharing.
The DoDIIS experience would not be complete without the showcasing of technologies from companies on the forefront of innovation. Over 300 solutions providers demonstrated their latest products and services in 50,000 square feet of exhibit space, making it the largest exhibit space in DoDIIS history. The exhibit hall illustrated Denver’s excitement about outdoor adventure. Featuring a rustic, cabin-feel social media lounge, and ski lodge themed signage, the Mile High City was the perfect theme for networking in the exhibit hall. Each day of the conference attendees were able to meet face-to-face with exhibitors to get a firsthand look at technology solutions that will help advance their own organization’s mission.
